It’s only been increasing materially in certain countries like the USYou have to read what they said. Basically, the metric has been increasing over the years. Consequently, comparing PE in a given year to the values in previous years the PE was consistently higher than previous years. If the PE level were not changing then this would not be possible. It is precisely because PE has been going up that most years have values above the previous median.
Many other countries have seen static, slightly increasing, or decreasing valuations.
