This is encouraging to read. Competition and alternatives are great, and it sounds like T-Mobile’s 5G service is becoming more robust and reliable, in many regions. It was not quite ready for prime time, it seemed, when I looked into it 18 months ago or so. The speed and reliability were just not there, based on neighbors’ experiences.
We use T-Mobile for our phone and may take another look at the internet offering in the future. We have two homes in two states, each with fast gigabit fiber service. In one state, CenturyLink and Cox compete, and we have been happy with our $75 service for the two years we have been in our home. In the state where our other home is, Xfinity has long had a high-speed monopoly, and we pay significantly more. Again, the competition is a good thing, and I am glad that Xfinity is at least no longer using the misleading “10G” marketing terminology.
