I have both M3 and M4 iMacs. Both maxed on memory (24GB on M3, 32 GB on M4). 1 TB disk on both. I cannot see any material difference in speed or performance. M4 offers nano texture screen as someone mentioned. I suggest you get the M4, max the RAM, at least 1 TB disk. Will serve you well for years.
