Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Re: Engineers - when did your yearly raise amount begin to stagnate

For those who had gotten their PE, was this your highest salary jump on average? I'm curious if this was one of the biggest jumps, as getting that PE can get you started with signing/stamping.
I see three different types of fields of engineering in relation to a PE license.
1) Those where it's basically a requirement.
2) Those where it's mostly superfluous.
3) Those where it's ~impossible to obtain.

I think you'll get very different answers from the first two groups (and obviously none from the third).
I think I'm on the edge between 1st and 2nd one, my background is EE but I currently work on construction managament in a engineering consulting firm. The overall company culture places some emphasis on higher education either in degrees/certs, but the actual project group i'm in doesn't really put much emphasis on it at all.

Either way, my motivation for it is to open the doors a bit more, if I ever decide to choose the design path as well.
