I just had a prescription filled at a CVS store with insurance. The cost was $9 for 90 day supply.$55 versus ~$4 sounds like a lot but I don't know if that is a "scam". You are paying for a pharmacist to fill a custom prescription versus an Amazon tech or god-knows who to do a count out. Then there are Brick&Mortar costs. Then there are admin costs. The extra $51 may be covering all these costs - it isn't just the price to manufacturer the medicine.
You also didn't state whether this was a 1:1 exact match in medication (versus a name brand versus generic) but the difference sounds too small for that to be the case.
