I went to a professional car painter and filed a claim under our car insurance when DW’s Lexus got keyed. We had a high deductible so we ended up paying for 90% of the repair. We went with the “high quality” multi-layer paint repair to make DW’s car look factory-quality. There were cheaper options.
I had a small accidental scratch on an older car and used touch up paint matching our vehicle from the local car parts store (Pep Boys). It was the right color and hard to see from a distance, but close up you could see the layer of paint. I did a very amateurish job.
