It's probably a good reason to avoid offerings from small "concierge" firms, narrowly focused funds (like AI for instance) and funds with low AUM (under $50M?).

I would have little concern about broad based index ETFs from major players: Vanguard, Blackrock/State Street and Schwab.
Will Vanguard, Blackrock and Schwab all be around in 50 years? What happens to the ETF if one is bought, is it subsumed into another index fund as a taxable event?
