Yes. They’re really that terrible. This is a chair you’re sitting in for hours every day. A $50 or $100 chair, even if it’s confortable when you first sit on it, will be made of the cheapest possible materials, and will likely break down within the year. It’s a much better idea to spend the money and get something that you’ll have for the next decade.Are computer chairs that are $50 to $100 really that poor quality on amazon?
Like another commenter, I don’t care for the Aeron chairs, they have a bar that cuts off the circulation just above my knees. I prefer the Herman Miller Celle chair, but the Steelcase Leap works, too. Chairs are like shoes. They’re not one size fits all, and you really should go to an office furniture dealer and sit on some to figure out what you like.
