Personal Investments • Re: Should I Consolidate?

There is a suggested format for asking portfolio questions and if you post your information in using that format as a guideline you will likely get better responses since what to do really depends on your overall financial situation. (You do not need to follow it exactly)

In particular most people do not know all the ticker symbols so it is hard to comment on what to do with those investments.

It would also be good to list how much capital gains you have in each of them. Selling the ones with a capital loss or trivial long term capital gain likely makes sense.

Selling off any that have a high expense ratio also likely makes since because you expect to hold them for the long term. I would look for any that have an ER above 0.5% or even 0.25% and sell them.

I would guess that would narrow your list down to just a couple of ETFs. There is a quote you will see here, "The dream of a perfect plan is the enemy of a good plan." . Even if it is not ideal it might make sense to just keep those instead of paying the taxes to sell them now.

If you support a charity or church then giving them shares of the ETF instead of cash is also an option to consider.
