Very true my friend. That might be a bigger thing to hedge against than problems with the market!
Aging can have an impact on your ability, even for the most savvy. I personally saw an elderly relative who had been very prudent throughout his life succumb to scam after scam in his old age, eventually turning a literal fortune into destitution. The only thing he left behind was a modest apartment and a small pension that went to his spouse. I guess this is one way to Die with Zero, but I think the author of that book had a different process in mind than losing it all to bad investments and scams.
