Exactly - my wife and I will start drawing from our traditional IRAs (appx. $2 million in total) when we each turn 59.5 years old in the next couple of years, so Roth conversions will likely be unnecessary....Tax deferred accounts in the $1M-$2M range for a couple may not create all that big an RMD '"problem" over a long retirement to justify huge Roth conversions.
