Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Re: Post-NAR Settlement Buyer Commission Megathread [National Association of Realtors]

One data point:
Two friends listed their houses over the Labor Day weekend in a VHCOL popular subdivision with experienced realtors affiliated with national franchises. They immediately got multiple offers and are under contract. Both sellers were motivated to sell (buying other houses) and were well-priced to get multiple offers.

Price range: $1.5M

Both sellers offered 2.5% sellers agent and 2.5% buyer's agent commission in their asking price, and both buyers wanted to pay the buyer's agent commission through escrow rather than in cash outside the deal.

So right now at least in this area of high demand homes it seems "business as usual" as those commissions were typical for "full service" in this metro area before the settlement.
