Personal Investments • Re: Treasury Bills and Notes

Is it a good idea for an 87 yr old retiree to move some assets, mainly VG Bond funds in an IRA, into T-bills and/or T-notes to preserve assets in view of weirdly unfolding political scene? Same question for Non-IRA investments, except VG Stock Index Funds involved. Allocation at present is 36% Stock Index Funds, 50% Bond Funds, the rest Treasuries, On-line bank accounts.
It is a really bad idea. Moving assets in a market timing move due to personal concerns about "weirdly unfolding political scene" is a recipe for disaster. An 87 year old should be simplifying their portfolio, not making it more complex because they think they can read and forecast the political future.
