Similar experience, I linked one credit union and I just received a text from Schwab to verify it was me [enter the code on Schwab's webiste] and then my account was linked and I could pull from it. However, for another credit union Schwab needed additional verification and sent two micro deposits. Once I confirmed them I was good to go with pulling money out of that linked account. In both cases I just provided Schwab the routing and checking account numbers, no idea why one was instant and other not.Absolutely won't. I've had TransUnion, Experian, Exquifax, ChexSystem, LexusNexus, Early Warning and a few other smaller agencies frozen for years. I opened a couple new accounts in the last year at Fidelity (CMA and Brokerage) without a problem. Maybe they were more lenient because I already had an account, but I doubt it.I think freezing ChexSystems may stop new account creation. The OP indicated the three credit bureaus were frozen but not ChexSystems.
I do know having frozen credit reports certainly won't stop you from opening accounts at other institutions. For example, I opened a new account at Charles Schwab a few weeks back to check them out, just in case things go really south with what's happening at Fidelity. I've never had a Schab account before, I didn't unfreeze anything on my end before applying. They opened the account for me in about 5 minutes using nothing more then basic information that I know is out on the Dark Web (Name, Address, Cell Number and SSN) and let me pull funds from my Alliant Credit Union account WITHOUT asking for any kind of authentication (i.e. no Plaid check, no micro deposits, etc), I just entered the routing and account numbers off one of the checks and they let me pull funds no problem, they were debited from Alliant the next day.
So, yeah.....
