Kids can choose to continue to gift from our DAF, or proportionately transfer to their own DAFs.
They were trained to be self-sufficient from a young age, and covered their own college costs with assets and earnings accumulated via family means and training. We've been matching their earnings into their Roths since age 12, and continue to personally annually gift, and assist when needed (very rarely).
Recently got reprimanded by kids for disposing of several investment properties, rather than creating 'family wealth' through inheritance step-up basis. Well ... I had no idea our kids were even interested in our investment properties. They never inquired, or shared in the burden. In retrospect, I would have remained in NNN commercial props if there was any intent or desire to pass along the RE assets. Probably a discussion to have LONG before parents arrive at... "I don't need to deal with this anymore, I'm tired, I'm finished dinking with the hassle. "
