Now you understand the American healthcare system.Looks like the only way to prevent this is to get the list of lab codes the provider wants to get done, call insurance and verify which ones won’t be covered before getting the labs done. Funny thing is that I’ll probably waste an hour of a lot of peoples time doing it this way when it would have been cheaper for insurance to just cover the test in some cases.
