I get it, I can rebalance in Ira. Maybe smaller taxable moves can work each year.Similar experiences and a similar asset allocation for me. I would add that I worked very hard for my money and at my stage in life I'm not willing to risk losing it. Actually, I wish I had more in bonds but selling stocks just to buy more bonds isn't worth the capital gains tax.My grand parents and taylors family experience losing it all in the stock market in the depression influenced me. I have always kept at least a third in gov bonds even with a gov pension. 50% in Vti and 15% in Vxus and 5 year treasury ladder.
Even as a conservative investor over the 45 years I have invested I have a low 7 figure portfolio and paid off houses. We are the lucky ones.
