Personal Consumer Issues • Re: What’s the deal with turntables?

Not before my DOUBLE cassette deck sells first! Ha ha. I wonder if I have a button cell battery for my tape head demagnetizer. Or clean pads for my tape head cleaner (talk about cyclical noise). Who can rattle off their go-to blank tape? Maxell UD-XLII anyone? CrO2, right?

I think some kids just want to impress with how retro they are. To them it's novel and different, makes them stand out, look knowledgable and sophisticated. So many things come back in style if you wait long enough. I never thought vinyl LPs would make a comeback, but then again I never thought bell bottoms and Polaroids would either.
Now there's a blast from the past! I doubt that I could have recalled anything other than Maxell, but I certainly recognize it. I would use no other, but I do seem to remember that Maxell came out with something to supersede those about the time I moved away from cassettes. I wouldn't be surprised if I still had a few of one or the other still unwrapped lying around.

I did copy some of the cassettes I wanted to keep to digital a few years ago--had to buy a cassette player to do it as mine would no longer function. There are only a few I still occasionally listen to as I have been able to find no other sources of the music on them.
TDK was the other big player in the blank cassette market. I still have some SA90s laying around.
