What if the house was sold years later and the house burned down, again linked to some light switch a previous home owner installed 20 years ago?
Might be a good question for your insurance agent. It seems unlikely as - with likely things - one hears more about that happening. The problem might be that it's impossible to know who did what in the past. Maybe insurance looks at things now and moving forward? Not sure about that - hope an insurance pro will check in.



Read a book about electrical code ...
And that is when most newbies should stop and call a licensed electrician!



I have done the first three many times ...
Better to have someone who has done it many times than someone at their first electricity rodeo. And there are still good electricians out there! Probably not a great idea to cheap out on electrical work!
