It's hard to argue against past performance. It was what it was. It's pretty easy to argue that the past performance won't necessarily predict future performance.
As a previous poster said, it’s hard to argue against performance! Unless you are simply dismissing this and just going on what everyone else says.

We argue on this forum all the time about how much faith to put in backtesting, especially when any fund out there can change the methods they use to pick investments, whether active or passive. Even index funds can change the index they track - note that Vanguard did this a while back for a number of funds where they moved from S&P, through MSCI for a short time and finally ended up with CRSP for some of their funds. That the fund gets to keep its name doesn't change the fact that it can change how it does what it does.
