We have two kids, both single.
We are considering helping the younger one due to the runup in
housing prices and interest rates. The older son is on board with
this and approves. We would loan the younger one money at the
same low rate that the older one has. The younger son has
sufficient money for the down payment.
He will repay us over 20 years, but we don't need to depend
on it to maintain our pre-retirement lifestyle or our travel.
Both are making over the median salary for their age, but the older
one is doing much better.
