Tesla has autonomous emergency braking (as do other cars). It literally recognizes bicyclists - you can see them as avatars on the screen. In actual vehicle safety testing by recognized authorities e.g. IIHS, its emergency stopping for crossing peds and bicyclists scores full points. This is a bit off topic, I realize: but as a pedestrian or cyclist, should one be extra careful around Teslas? Any other vehicles to watch out for? I do know that as a cyclist I shouldn't ride my bike alongside, but fully and far behind, semi-trucks.
And recently, cars were software-upgraded to include warning of approaching cyclist when parked, to prevent 'dooring' - a common urban bicycling incident. Other manufacturers have this feature but it's not that widespread in the industry.
You don't have to use an ostentatious wrap. You can buy a normal wrap, but in the color you want, if not offered by manufacturer or for only for charge.I guess wraps are the modern car equivalent to a lift kit and big tires.
Paint upgrade cost a few $k. Audi's signature Nardi Grey can cost $5k. For that same price or less, you can wrap the car in the same/similar color. The wrap absorbs most of the road abuse. Years on, you can remove the wrap and have the original factory paint unblemished.
