As an update, I feel like I am getting scammed. Am I being unreasonable here? How should I best proceed? Thank you.
I received an email yesterday indicating my first cellular phone bill is estimated at $475! And then my on going bill will be $277.XX.
Note: I have not yet traded in my old phones, and refuse to until this is corrected in writing.
That is much higher than what I was quoted ($115 monthly, or $155 with new every 1 option, with first bill being $100 to $150 higher because of credits that will later be applied for my phone trade ins)
I called the AT&T Costco number and the rep kept repeating I would receive "credits" on the next bill and this is just an estimate. They could not specify what my actual bill would be. I proceeded to drive to Costco.
Spoke with 2 newer reps (one rep I remember was being "trained" when I signed up a couple weeks ago. They repeated the same type of message. AT&T does not know I signed up for this deal through Costco, they said. My bill will be lower once they figure that out.
How does AT&T not know what deals they are signing customers up for? Is what I wonder.
They put me in contact with original sales person who agreed this estimate was MUCH higher than what it should be. He is escalating it to ATT, which takes 3 business days to complete. He refused to give me his contact information due to an ATT policy. I stated ATT should have a policy to take care of their customers immediately, without waiting 3 business days.
I then notified the assistant store manager (ASM). ASM agreed I should not trade in my old phones and this bill sounds outrageously high. She contacted ATT corporate via phone call and email. I will follow up Monday.
I feel some assurance that this is through Costco, as they take care of their customers and employees. ASM states they do not allow vendors in the store that do not give their customers better deals.
