I can see how you might feel terrible making a profit that you wish you didn't have. Image may be NSFW.. . . After moving my my portfolio over to Schwab, they liquidated my $89k Vanguard Money Market Admiral fund to buy all ETFs without any consultation. They then made a series of ridiculous moves, such as disbursing my retirement money from my ROTH AND taking out withholding taxes, disbursing my retirement money from my Vanguard growth index fund which will generate even more capital gains taxes.

If you wait a year before selling, the Taxable ETFs would be taxed as long-term capital gains (ie, at a lower tax rate).
What were you expecting him to do? Did you communicate that in writing?
