It’s funny, I have, or have had, local-yocal banks, big banks (BofA, Truist, etc.) and online banks (Ally and CapOne). Oddly enough, my branch manager at my local BofA is incredible in terms of service when I needed it.100% spot on.Big banks are big banks. It doesn't sound like you have anything in particular that you hate about BofA. If it ain't broke...
An alternative could be a local bank or credit union but that is really, really local. I check for my area on Yelp and it's hard to find one with 3 or more stars (out of 5).
But the important point is, it is hit or miss, there are three BofA branches close to me and they are all very different, one is old, small and they have filled the lobby with cubicles for the loan and business folks, and it smells like a wet cave, the other shiny new with great folks, and the third (for the DC area folks) is one of the old Chevy Chase branches (now CapOne) and it feels like a mosoleum, and there is never anyone there (usually only one person).
Never used a credit union, and folks on here seem to like them. My local-yocal banks are fine, but they do have more limited services than my BofA branch does and their technology scares me some times.
So OP, I would pick something that works for you and the grass may not be that greener.
