Try finding a web forum for your particular veihicle, and seeing what the recommendations are there. If a tire you're considering isn't mentioned, ask about it there and maybe you'll draw out a review from someone who didn't feel it was worth volunteering otherwise.
These days, it's hard to have confidence in the authenticity of online reviews, esp. at retailers' web sites. I don't see why Tire Rack should be an exception, but I have relied on them in the past. I have had varying experience with tires there, but all of them were better than OEM. If you drive enough you'll be able to sample some different models and return to favorites.
