Personal Consumer Issues • Re: Costco.com TV purchase

I bought a 65 inch from Costco and did not use the service (think it was $20 at the time). If I buy another, I will use the service just to unbox it and put it on the stand. I did it myself, and they are a little unwieldy.

The guys who delivered it were very careful and professional.
Big Costco fan here. We've bought a washer & dryer from them. Competent, no fuss delivery, setup and haul away included.

TVs were different. In the end we did not buy from Costco. A couple of years ago there was no delivery offered at our Costco location, no setup, no haul away. Instead we went with Best Buy that (at least then) had a Total Tech plan at $180?/yr. Included delivery, setup, haul away and follow up for 1 year on that purchase and all others for the next 12 months.
We had a run of bad luck with TV's and DWs that year at our home and condo; purchased 4 TV's, a DW, a doorbell and a mesh wifi. Saved about $1900 in del, setup, haul away and install. Not sure it's the same deal now, but it was white glove service all around, by their Geek Squad. We recommend them. A few dollars saved at Costco was outweighed by the zero hassle of getting it done, multiple times that year.
