Personal Consumer Issues • Re: Indoor Plants

I live in the northeast/mid Atlantic part of the country and fall and winter are coming.

So the house will be mostly sealed up.

Was thinking of getting some indoor plants to improve air quality.

Does anyone have suggestions ?
Indoor temperatures are about the same everywhere you go so pretty much you can buy any houseplant you see and grow them successfully. My only recommendation would be to avoid buying them at big box stores or stores that just sell them outside seasonally. In my experience around here, they are infested with bugs and various mold diseases that once brought into your house can go throughout all your plants. Those sorts of places don't really have dedicated nursery people to care for the plants adequately until they get sold. We instead by ours from a local plant nursery that specializes in selling plants and trees. We pay a bit more of a premium for sure but the plants come into our house healthy and stay healthy.
