Where did you place these wifi extender pods? If you placed them in the room with no signal, then they won't work. You want to place them somewhere in between the main router and the room. The idea is that the extender would catch the router's signal and then give it a little boost so it can reach the room.We pay for a very high speed internet, and we purchased the wifi extender pods from the internet company for $200 I believe. They claimed this would expand the wifi signal throughout the home and even outside, so our problems would be solved. Not the case.
I played with placement. First setup was using both pods, one just outside the main living room (which has the router in it), and the second just up the stairs, outside of son's room. Next setup, internet provider recommended using just 1 pod, about halfway between router and the "drop area" I'll call it. So I tried the pod just outside the living room. Then tried removing that and placing it just outside drop area. No other "middle ground" power source exists between the 2. Now I've gone back to the 2 pods I mentioned. There's not really many other pod configurations I could attempt in my house.
