Morningstar star ratings aren't very useful. They have no predictive power -- Morningstar themselves admit this.Once again, the ETF's TR performance is good as its 5-star rating attests. Here's its TR performance relative to other representative India ETFs (EPI, SMIN, PIN, INDA, GLIN) over the l last 5 years.
They tell you how a fund did relative to similar funds.
It's like claiming that you're the most alive person in a cemetery. Sure, it's true, but not much of an accomplishment.
Context is important.
As you've noted, the fund's holdings are all over the place. You'd never want to hold this is taxable.
