Personal Investments • Re: Fidelilty Advisor Pushing Annuities

At the closing of the meeting the advisor stated that the rates he quoted were only good for a short time so better buy now.
Based on what you've posted, it's almost certain that the advisor was talking about multi year guaranteed annuities (MYGAs).

Many Bogleheads, myself included, regard MYGAs as a reasonable choice for a fixed income investment, offering a guaranteed rate for a guaranteed term. Kind of like a bank CD (but, of course, different from a bank CD).
