We used to have a good HSA administrator that charged no fees to rollover funds. but it had high admin fees so I moved the balance to Fidelity every month. We changed HSA administrator and this newer one charges 25 per rollover transaction so what I end up doing is the following.
I treat my contributions and employer match as part of the bond component within my 3 fund at Fidelity. Every so often I look at the 3 funds in Fidelity plus the cash and adjust the allocation as needed and if needed. Yesterday, I requested a full rollover distribution of the cash that will go to the Fidelity HSA and then re-allocate the cash where it needs to go. The HSA follows the same Asset allocation as my portfolio, because I find it easier to mange that way vs making it part of the entire balance.
