I’ll be 80 at my next birthday and my wife isn’t far behind. We’re perfectly happy to stick to 50-50 for however much more time we have left. Having a generous, COLA’d military pension as the centerpiece of our retirement has meant we haven’t needed to be too aggressive in our investment AA, so we’ve likely been more conservative than some might be in similar circumstances. We recently turned most of our portfolio over to Vanguard’s PAS for tending in anticipation of my wife, whose hobby is NOT investments, having someone to hold her financial hand in my absence. I also reached a point where I want someone else to handle things like portfolio management, income taxes and washing windows.
