Non-US Investing • Re: Boosting UK Basic State Pension (catching up missing years)

I paid 18 missing years of class 3 contributions yesterday. I found that the odds are very good, as noted by others. I paid from €795.50 and €907.40 per year, most of them were €824.20.

Be aware that even if you miss the 5 April deadline, you can still pay any missing years up to 6 years back, and unless the rules change at a later date this will continue.

The process is reasonably clear, but as I am not a British subject and have not resided in the UK since 1997 I cannot get electronic access; communication has to be by letter or phone. Phone access can be slow (I spent 45 minutes waiting Thursday) but the agents I have spoken to have all been very competent, and friendly too!
