I happily own both, but in tax advantaged accounts so don't know anything about their distributions. Frankly, I'd focus on whether you want to open an account with Fidelity or Schwab and let the fund choice follow from that. I modestly prefer Fido. I doubt any difference in future capital gains distribution will be meaningful.
At Schwab or Fidelity, just use ETFs for tax efficiency. There may not be a meaningful difference today, but taxable account investments have a level of permanence due to future unrealized gains.

The cap gains distribution may not be meaningful for a married couple today, but years from now, it may be enough to put a surviving spouse filing as a single taxpayer over the IRMAA cliff, as one example.
