The Cures Act requires that health records be available online with exception to those that would jeopardize patient safety. Even CT scan results are supposed to be immediately available -- even before your physician has time to review. Numerous patients have found out they have cancer from reading their reports. Unintended consequence of the Cures Act.just because federal law grants you access to your entire medical record, does not mean that it is in Mychart.
To get the full legal medical record, you may have to file a request with the medical records department or health information department or whatever your hospital calls it.
MyChart itself is configurable by each health system and may just have basic information. for example, mine will show lab results, discharge notes from each visit, etc. Pretty much the same stuff the doctor used to hand me in paper as I was walking out the door.
The actual medical record, well it’s got imaging and way more detailed notes and so forth.
