As you have noted in the MS Churner's thread, the bonus was credited a few weeks after filing a complaint with FINRA and the SEC. It seems to me that he/she is eligible for the bonus. This to me is worth notice.Those threads are not so interesting.There are a number of threads about issues with Citi regarding bonuses. First one is from 2017, 7 years ago, not current enough to have any relevancy whatsoever.
Second one while recent, is by an OP calling themselves MS Churner, someone doing bonus churning and unfortunately ran into the fact that Citi and almost any bank or brokerage reserves the right to close your account and stop doing business with you, FOR ANY REASON. Churning for bonuses is certainly one reason they may choose to stop doing business with you, but they don't have to tell you the reason.
Anyone who actually USES the brokerage now (or recently) and followed the rules to get the bonus might actually be more helpful than those in the 2 threads linked above.
From a totally unscientific personal impression, it seems that Citi has received more complaints about bonuses in this forum. It also seems to get more complaints about it services. According to viewtopic.php?p=6261059#p6261059 you found Citi's service bad, at least in 2021, as you said "Citibank service has been bad for many years. There is no bonus that makes it worth switching to Citi." In MS Churner's thread, you said "I have been satisfied with the customer service of their brokerage division so far, and the branch people for checking are excellent too. If I had any complaints I don't love their credit card division, but it's gotten a bit better lately." I guess they have improved from your perspective?
