What a load of garbage.
I am curious how so? The data is the data.

Do you question the data or have alternative theories.

My guess is this, mutual index fund investors are more likely to stay the course for whatever reason.

ETF fund holders are more likely to trade, on average. Trades have cost in terms of bid ask spreads. But also timing issues. Perhaps a study of BH ETF fund investors would be different?
